Faith Formation:

Religious Education and Sacremental Preparation for Children and Youth and Adults

Vision Statement

Faith Formation at Good Shepherd is a lifelong journey for all ages which strengthens our Catholic identity, connects us to each other and the world, and inspires us to share the Good News while living as joyful Disciples of Christ.

General Information:

The Catechetical Faith Formation program at Good Shepherd is designed to connect people of all ages to the joy of life in the Church and faith in Christ. Through active learning, prayer and community connection, we share faith with each other to build the Kingdom of God in our world.  We partner with parents to add to the foundation of faith that begins and continues in the home. Finally, we commit ourselves to the importance of life-long formation and strive to provide opportunities that strengthen faith in everyone.

The Father Bender Community Center and Classrooms offer the parish family a safe and welcoming environment for our programs. Our catechists and volunteers value creativity, flexibility and fun in our classrooms so that children, youth and adults will be engaged in the important lessons of our Catholic faith.

We offer Parish-based and Home/Family-based instruction for grades Pre-K to 11th.

***All young people in the Home/Family-based program are expected to participate in parish retreat, youth ministry activities and family events!

***Please note, there is no Home/Family-based option for grade 2 and grade 11 due to the necessary communal nature of sacramental preparation.
