Religious Education: Home-Based

HOME-BASED RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES
A program of home-based religious education is offered to families who choose to instruct their own children in the family setting.

A Parent Information Night in September for receiving a schedule and materials for the year.
Three family meetings, during the year to provide a group experience of a social, Christian service, and a spiritual activity.
Special programs in conjunction with the church-based program, such as sacramental preparation classes, retreats, that all home-based students must attend.
Weekly lessons taught at home by the parents.
A Parent Meeting in May to evaluate completed lessons and to hand in materials

Registration
Registration for either the church-based or home-based Religious Education programs of the current school year is accepted during July and August. REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY EVERY YEAR. Registration forms are available in the Gathering Space at the church, as well as in the Church Office. Class size is generally limited to 10 students per session, and class assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. New parishioners register when they join the parish.

Home-based religious instruction for Grades 1-10 is centered in the family and emphasizes the importance of all members of the family participating in an on-going process of catechesis.
