Religious Education: Church-Based

CHURCH-BASED RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES

Elementary
Religious Education classes are offered from mid-September to early May for children in Kindergarten through grade 5. A choice of either Sunday or Monday Religious Education classes are offered and are held in the parish hall at the church. Classes meet at the following times:

Sunday: 4:15-5:30 p.m. and 6:00-7:15 p.m.
Monday: 6:00-7:15 p.m

Secondary
Catechesis, Christian service, and spiritual and social activities are all important components of a Comprehensive Youth Ministry Model of Religious Education that is offered to secondary students at Good Shepherd Parish. Classes meet in the Parish Hall at the Church. Each grade meets seven Sundays and three Wednesdays.

Grades 6-8
Sunday 8:45 - 10:45 a.m. / Catechesis + Snack + Mass
Wednesday 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. / Mass + Catechesis

Grades 9-11
Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. / Mass + Lunch + Catechesis
Wednesday 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. / Mass + Catechesis

Each session includes participation at mass. Christian service, retreats, spiritual and social activities are scheduled at other times according to the needs and desires of the group and leaders. Check the bulletin for dates and times.

Registration
Registration for either the church based or home-based Religious Education programs of the current school year is accepted during May and June. REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY EVERY YEAR. Registration forms are available in the Gathering Space at the church, as well as in the Church Office. Class size is generally limited to !0 students per session, and class assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. New parishioners register when they join the parish.
