More about the Home-Based option for Catechesis
Parents may choose the Home-based catechetical program for their children in grades 1 – 10. Parents are the catechists and work with their children to develop the faith-based themes in the grade-level curriculum. Home based sessions should be scheduled as a priority for the family.
Please note that there is no home based option for the 11th grade which is also the final year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Because of the communal nature of faith formation, all young people in the home based program are also expected to participate in parish family events whenever possible and the retreat for the appropriate grade level if applicable. In addition, we plan parent meetings and several family centered gatherings during the year which are considered a required part of the home based program.
All Parish-based sessions will meet in the Education Center (2nd floor) of the Father Bender Community Center at Good Shepherd or in the Warehouse. Meeting space will be determined by class size after the Registration deadline (Sept. 6th)
This year, the full schedule will be available online in a Google Calendar.
If you prefer a printed calendar, please contact the parish office.
