Good Shepherd has two youth ministry programs to help meet the diverse needs of youth in middle and high school and allow them to explore their faith through service, creative programming, and fun activities. Our youth ministry compliments our religious education program, TYM, for our middle and high school youth.

Youth Ministry programs are open to any youth who wishes to have fun and share their faith. Youth do not need to be enrolled in TYM at Good Shepherd to participate, nor do they need to be Catholic.

We welcome youth and their friends from any and all denominations.

WORD -- High School Youth Ministry -- WORD is our high school youth ministry and is open to youth in 9-12 grade. We encourage youth participation and leadership by inviting youth to engage in the planning of events and activities. WORD has 2-3 activities a month, balancing service, fun, and faith. We have small group book studies as well as large group activities. WORD has a group of adult leaders and parents that help facilitate and chaperone events.
SHOUT! -- Middle School Youth Ministry -- SHOUT! is open to youth in 6-8th grade. We focus on social and service activities to allow this age group to become comfortable and welcome in their faith community. SHOUT! typically offers at least one event on month, traditionally on the last Friday of the month. On top of our regular meeting, we offer fun group activities as well as family activities, including an annual service trip to Frenchville, Pa over Spring Break. As with the high school ministry, SHOUT! depends on a group of dedicated adults to assist in the planning and implementing of activities.

WORD and SHOUT both have email listserves where information is shared. There is also a youth ministry bulletin board in the gathering space and information on the parish website. If you have any questions about youth ministry, please contact Amelia McGinnis at youthmininster@goodshepherd-sc.org.
